The screams of “Nazi”, like the screams of “racist” came in defense of the Obama health scam flim-flam. Last year and the year before last the fight was all about Obama’s big gift to Big PhaRma and Big Insurance. This year… well not much has changed. What has changed once again is what Evan Thomas chooses to tell us. Last year Evan Thomas loved Obama’s scam. This year, when it is too late, not so much:
“Sometimes criticism comes in the unlikeliest of places.
On Friday’s “Inside Washington,” Newsweek columnist Evan Thomas, once an editor at the magazine with a long track record of having liberal positions (even once having likened President Barack Obama to a deity), noted the modest improvement in the unemployment number reported on Friday. However, nearly a year after Obamacare was passed and signed into law, he admitted Republicans were right for voicing their opposition of it.
“It ain’t because of Congress,” Thomas said. “The unemployment will go down a little bit but the game in Washington will still be this unreal game. Health care though – I got to say, is one place where I think where Republicans are right.”
Back in November 2009, Thomas admitted the health care reform bill had flaws, but still voiced his support for it. Now he has proclaimed it a failure.
“The health care bill is a disaster,” Thomas continued. “We’re sort of slowly learning – it’s not working. It’s interesting – they’re implementing it and it’s not working out at all as people anticipated. There’s all sorts of wildly wrong projections. As it’s being practiced – it’s failed.”
Some of our readers might recall our article “After The Lovin’” in which we documented how Evan Thomas thought Obama was a Messiah only to tell us what he really thought when it was too late - after the election. Obama is “creepy” Thomas told us – after the election. Tom Brokaw didn’t know anything about Obama either:
Lovely. And don’t miss the tidbits about how none of them know anything about Obama’s attitude or policy towards China. That video is as fresh today as it was in 2008.
With all that history in mind, the House yesterday finally passed a bipartisan health care bill – for repeal of the Obama scam. Obama thugs called the repeal “racist” for no better reason than the word falls trippingly from their tongues. It was a publicity stunt. But perhaps it is a publicity stunt with a purpose.I bet it's only a matter of time before Barack's inflated ratings (via soft and easy press because they're supposed to inflate him so he can screw us over and destroy Social Security) fall. And I really don't see anything to praise about the State Dinner. Michelle's dress was both tacky and too costly. Do they not get how many people are suffering?
That's just insane. I just can't believe them. They're supposed to be working for us -- or he is -- and they're living it up in the midst of a recession. Is this what people felt during the Depression when they looked at Herbert Hoover?
England gets Tony Blair testifying to the Iraq Inquiry tomorrow. Richard Norton-Taylor (Guardian) reports:
Tony Blair was offered a way out of attacking Iraq at a secret meeting with his foreign secretary Jack Straw eight days ahead of the invasion, according to documents lodged with the Chilcot inquiry, which tomorrow will question the former prime minister for a second time.
An anonymous official told the inquiry: "I recall a meeting with the prime minister where the foreign secretary [Jack Straw] made the argument ... for the UK military not being involved.
"The point the foreign secretary was making, in my view, was that this was the final opportunity to decide on a different track – advising the prime minister that he still had a chance to avoid it if he wanted to ... The argument he was making was more in terms of 'If you want to avoid your own resignation, prime minister, you still have an opportunity and here it is. You have a way out and why don't you take it?'"
The note by the anonymous official continues: "It was offering the prime minister a way out if he wanted it ...The thing that I was absolutely struck by privately was the prime minister's response, the speed of it and the absolute insistence of it, and the fact that he had got his arguments all marshalled and all laid out."
I will be praying that Blair is confronted by a serious Inquiry and that they nail their points down and force him to answer honestly.
I'm not joking about praying. I've already prayed on that once today. If you believe in prayer, please consider joining me in that. (If not, that's fine as well.)
Going out with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
