Body of Proof
The two shows I'm going to cover this fall are CBS' "The Good Wife" (Sunday nights) and ABC's "Body Of Proof" (Tuesday nights).
"Body Of Proof" revolves around Dana Delaney's Megan who used to be a surgeon but had a car accident and suffered hand damage. So now she works in the coroner's office. And Jeri Ryan's Kate is her boss. Megan's partner is Peter (Nicholas Bishop) who is an investigator. He and Megan make a good team because they have a chemistry without coming off like a couple. (They work together, they are not involved.) Kate date's Megan's ex-husband.
There are seven regular cast members. Two are African-American. One is Sonja Sohn who plays Detective Samantha Baker. She and her partner Bud Morris are usually working the same case as Megan and Peter. The other African-American is Windell Middlebrooks who plays Dr. Curtis Brumfield. He's right under Kate at the morgue so that means he's higher in the chain than Megan.
The murder cases are usually full of few twists and turns. This week's episode I saw the guilty immediately. It had to be the financial adviser. That was obvious to me. But probably because we saw the three suspects and where they were when the gun went off so I never bought them as the killers and the ex-wife of the multi-millionaire really didn't seem to have motive or desire.
Megan focused entirely on her work, was consumed with it. Her daughter is only now letting her into her life.
It's a complex show and I think Dana Delaney plays one of the best characters on TV. I also think the writers are lucky because Delaney's such a great actress that she makes the writing even better.
Going out with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
