Now let me gripe. A lot of people in the community are counting calories. Not everyone. But enough that I am suddenly aware of calories.
And that's a good thing.
So I'm trying to eat healthy.
I'm dead tired tonight. I grab the bus at work and get off a block from home because I don't want to cook. I was nodding out on the bus. I just want to blog, eat and get to bed.
So I get off a block from my home at the Subway. That's a sandwich chain that I believe is all over the country. And I think we all know Jared who is their spokesperson and lost all that weight by eating there.
So I go in and I'm going to get something from the 470 or less calories poster. I won't be getting anything on sale (Chicken Parmesan and I forget the other) but that's okay. I want to get something healthy.
And they have four rows of bread and it's all Italian Herbs and Cheese. That is the most fattening bread at Subway. A footlong of that -- forget anything on your sandwich, just that bread -- is 500 calories.
I ask if he's going to make any more bread. I figure I'll wait. Nope. He made this 3 hours ago and it's not selling so that's it.
I tell him, "This is supposed to be healthy eating. Maybe it's not selling because this is the most fattening bread Subway has -- before you put any vegetables, meat or cheese on it."
He didn't care.
And I don't think I'll be going to that Subway again.
Last week, I wanted spinach on my sandwich. The twerp said they were out. I don't think they were, I think he was lazy. There's a Subway a block in front of me and a Subway running parallel to me. I'll go to the second one from now on.
Going out with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
