WMC and Shultz
So I thought I could give Women's Media Center a link.
If you missed it, Ed Shultz (MSNBC) called a right winger a "slut" ("talk slut," actually -- if he calls males that as well, I wouldn't object to the term, by the way). And among those leading the call against him were Women's Media Center.
But I visited their website and can't find a thing on it -- even though Politico and others report about their campaign.
They need to organize their website better. It's a pain in the ass to visit and navigate. I'm sure someone thought, "Oh, it's so cool and look what happens when you click here and click there!" It's not cool. It's overdone.
It's like an obstacle course not a website. If you have the stamina, click here.
Since I can't applaud them, I'll instead go into the term.
I don't like Ed, I don't watch him, I don't listen to him. (And actually, he made the remark on his radio show.)
He is nothing but a lying partisan and I don't care for those.
If someone's not a partisan but they're right wing, I'm not going to agree with them in most cases but I can still appreciate their effort -- or if they're telling a joke, enjoy it. But if you're a partisan -- to Republicans or Democrats -- you're just boring. And whoring.
And I apply "whore" to men and to women.
And if turns out that Shultz has done the same in the past with "talk slut" -- if that's one of his regular phrases, then I'm sorry that he got suspended even though I don't care for him.
I don't believe in a language police. I do believe in equality.
I also know when you're angry -- and Big Ed is always angry -- you can be limited in your words. Shultz because he's on radio or on TV, me because I try to keep it work safe. Which means there are very few curse words I can use here. So I try to be creative with what I can use. And if that's what Ed was doing with "talk sluts," then I will support him on the use of it. But if it was just a term he trotted out when he wanted to attack women, forget it.
Going out with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
