We read it at the end of last week and we ran for cover. We thought nuclear warfare would explode on the internets. Instead there was silence.
Such is the desperation on the Obama Left that no indecency, no corruption on behalf of the golden calf is unexplored. Michael Tomasky debased himself (again) last week in service to Barack Obama. Read it and weep for the corruption that is the Obama Left:
“If Obama wants to show he’s grown a backbone, he should force Congress into recess and make appointments that Republicans have been blocking, says Michael Tomasky.”
That’s right - in order for Obama to prove he is a man he should get rid of Congress so he can make recess appointments. How low can these Obama hacks go? These are the very same “liberals” who used to protest against the “imperial presidency”. These are the “liberals” and “progressives” who attacked Hillary for insufficiently attacking the “unitary executive”. These are the very same fake “liberals” and “Progressives In Name Only” who denounced George W. Bush for his exercise of presidential power. Here’s Tomasky now, calling for a seeming dictatorship in everything but name:
“I’ve been wondering lately the same thing as a lot of liberals in Washington: when and how will the president ever grow some backbone? Sure, the post-debt-deal polls show that he came out of the mess looking somewhat less terrible than the Republicans. But he looks weak, and he’ll keep getting pushed around until he throws down on something. I’m planning an occasional series about what that something could be, and here’s idea No. 1: force the Congress into recess and make a slew of appointments.”
Tomasky asserts the president, under Article II Section 3 of the Constitution, has the power to adjourn the Congress and Obama should do so. Then under the recess appointment power granted the president in an earlier age when communications and travel made such a power a necessity, Tomasky urges Obama force feed federal appointments in order to make himself appear tough.
She wondered if I was as well? No.
