Biggest complaint from new users who are streaming is that they can't find out what's new.
They feel -- and I agree -- that, like Hulu, Netflix should have an option where you can click on recently added.
That would be a big improvement.
"The Big Sleep."
You are thinking, "I love that movie!!!!"
And that is where I think we're going to disagree.
I liked it. I wanted to love it. Thought I would.
Let me clarify something: We're not talking about Bogie & Bacall.
I love their "Big Sleep."
I'm talking about a 70s remake that starred Robert Mitchum, was filmed in England and had a ton of problems -- mostly that it pretty much used the same script from the 40s American film and that didn't work well.
Joan Collins was the best person in it. You might think she'd play the Lauren Bacall role.
You'd be wrong. She plays the minor character who works at the 'book' store. She was wasted in it but she was a star. She held your attention and made you want more.
Jimmy Stewart was on and he would have been smart to have avoided the role.
Robert Mitchum managed not to embarrass himself.
Candy Clark tried really hard but her role was rewritten to include parts of two characters and it never made sense. She looked good but I don't think anyone could have made the role believable.
The film had a Merchant and Ivory look to it when it needed to be mysterious and suspensful.
If you are a Joan Collins fan, you should rent it. Otherwise, avoid it. There are a lot of Robert Mitchum films you can watch instead.
Going out with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
