That's Isaiah's The World Today Just Nuts "Not Quite There" and I'm writing about movies tonight. In terms of your e-mails.
Feel free to mention your favorites. Feel free to even ask me to catch one of them and see if I like it enough to write about it. Ask me to just mention your favorite film in a post as, " ___ e-mailed that ____ is his/her favorite movie."
But listen, I don't want a to-do list.
I have enough going on in my life already and I don't want this to become a chore. If it is, I won't want to blog.
Five people e-mailed saying that I had to watch ___ (a documentary, five different ones) and had to . . . and had to . . .
I don't have to do anything.
To put it bluntly, you didn't wake up in my bed, you didn't make up my bed. You've got no say in what I do or don't do.
You can ask. But don't order me.
And I'm not big documentary fan to begin with. I probably won't even look at a documentary for another three months.
If there's one you like, you can leave a comment or you can e-mail me and I'll note it in a post. But I'm not taking assignments.
And there are about fifty readers who are waiting patiently. They've argued for their favorites and made strong cases lobbying me (not ordering me) and I've agreed to take a look at them but told them it won't be right away and that I might not get to their film for a year.
I hope to knock out at least 30 in 2011. And that's more than enough.
I'd like to knock out all 50 but I was only able to get to 20 this year (20 that readers lobbied for).
I like movies. I like writing about them.
I don't like chores. Please don't try to turn one of the things I love most in life into a chore, okay?
Going out with C.I.'s "Iraq snapshot:"
