Megan and Lacy fought a lot this episode. At the end we found out that there was a really important party that Lacy wasn't invited to and, to her, it said she wasn't popular and wasn't cool.
Before they got to that, Lacy wanted to get her hair streaked, Megan said "NO." (Lacy is a teenager. She is Megan's daughter. With her over at Megan's all the time lately, I'm wondering if we're supposed to assume that the husband to the job at Stanford and moved to California?) Then they went shopping for clothes and Lacy wanted this skin tight outfit that showed her belly. She was also talking about 'needing' a nose job. Then she went and off and let a friend streak her hair and Megan was furious. Also, she tried to stop eating. Megan told her she wasn't fat and, when that didn't work, that if she stopped eating she wouldn't be allowed to use the computer.
So when Lacy told Megan what was going on, Megan told Lacy that she was popular with her (her mom) and that she (Megan) wasn't popular in high school. She said Lacy should have told her what was going on. And Lacy said she didn't want to tell her mom she wasn't popular, that it was too embarrassing.
And I really liked that storyline. And it reminded me of feeling awkward and out of it and like everyone was staring at the pimple on my forehead. (I always got a pimple in the same place, on my forehead, about an inch from my eyebrows on the left side.)
And then what ended up happening, for me, is I stopped caring. (Like I hope Lacy does.) And just saw it as, "I'm going to be different." And I embraced that.
That's one of the reasons why I ended up into vinyl when everyone was buying CDs.
It's one of the reasons why I went into older music intentionally.
And it freed me up from having to chase after this or that and allowed me to stand out and be a little different.
So the case was about a bride who died on her wedding day. It was a hotel. She was on a balcony. Did she fall or was she pushed.
Other than Megan, the big news was that Bud is on edge (due to the pregnancy) and that Ethan found out about Dani and Peter. He's loved Dani since her first appearance. And he asked her out on a date on a Friday night and she responded they could see a Sunday matinee of the movie. Then he sees her slapping Peter's butt at work. (Which I couldn't believe because Kate has made clear to Peter that his dating Dani would be a no-no.) So Ethan got very upset about that.
And the upshot there was that Curtis was on a diet and on edge and Ethan asked me what was going on there? And Curtis got his strongest personal moment on the show yet when he explained that he feels like he is not living up to expectations.
